Gadgets

Below is a list of special gadgets users can enable on their preferences page, as defined by the definitions. This overview provides easy access to the system message pages that define each gadget's description and code.

• ImageAnnotator, to view notes and comments that people have placed upon images shown on file description pages.  (View description | Export)

• Open external links in a new tab/window  (View description | Export)

  Enabled for everyone by default.
• Print options gives you more control when printing content. Remove images or the background for instance.  (View description | Export)

• Reference Tooltips: Roll over any inline citation to see reference information, instead of having to jump away from the article text.  (View description | Export)

• FormWizard. A wizard for creating and expanding project pages.  (View description | Export)

• Geonotice: display notices on your watchlist about events in your region  (View description | Export)

  Enabled for everyone by default.
• Display pages on your watchlist that have changed since your last visit in bold (see customizing watchlists for more options)  (View description | Export)

• Add two new dropdown boxes below the edit summary box with some useful default summaries  (View description | Export)

• Citation expander: automatically expand and format citations using Citation bot  (View description | Export)

• HotCat, easily add / remove / change a category on a page, with name suggestion [example]  (View description | Export)

• ProveIt is a tool that adds a graphical user interface to find, edit, add and cite references (demo)  (View description | Export)

  Enabled for everyone by default.
• ProveIt (classic version) is a tool that adds a graphical user interface to find, edit, add and cite references (demo) This is the classic, original version of the gadget.  (View description | Export)

• refToolbar, adds a "cite" button to the editing toolbar for quick and easy addition of commonly used citation templates.  (View description | Export)

• Display links to disambiguation pages in orange  (View description | Export)

• Add a "Purge" option to the top of the page, which purges the page's cache when followed.  (View description | Export)

• Move section [edit] links to the right side of the screen.  (View description | Export)

• Gallery Details: Adds a link in the toolbox to display galleries and categories (and Newimages and Search result pages) with extensive details from file description pages and links to easily mark an image without source, etc. If Pretty log is activated, it also works on Log pages.
